Paul Thissen is an evaluation and communication specialist at International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie). His research employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, with a regional focus on Central Africa and the Sahel. His dissertation analyzes how differences in pre-existing, non-state institutions explain these variations in peripheral order and conflict.
